"As historians, we've joined many cultural tours over the years, and they're often quite superficial. Ed-Et was different. Our Guide had an impressive knowledge of Sri Lanka's history, but what we appreciated most was the way he explained it in a clear and engaging way. The visits to Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya were particular highlights. Instead of simply pointing out monuments and dates, he explained how the ancient kingdoms functioned and why these places were so important. "One of the things we appreciated most about this tour was the accommodation. Instead of staying in international chain hotels, we spent our nights in beautiful heritage properties that really reflected the places we were visiting. Our favourites were a colonial hotel in Kandy and a boutique hotel inside the walls of Galle Fort. The pace of the tour also felt just right. Some mornings started early so we could enjoy places before they became busy, while other days gave us time to relax over tea or spend longer exploring somewhere we loved. The hotels weren't just somewhere to sleep—they became part of the overall experience. Looking back, that's one of the things we'll remember most about the trip. Ed-Et clearly puts a lot of thought into choosing places that add something special to the journey."

Proper Adventure

"Sri Lanka turned out to be a proper adventure — elephants in Udawalawe, climbing that insane rock fortress at Sigiriya, and snorkelling. Our guide was brilliant, kept us cool in the AC for all those long drives. Not cheap from Australia, but you are getting real experiences, not tourist traps."

Properly Different

"We have done plenty of tours across Europe, but this Sri Lanka tour felt properly different. Sigiriya at dawn before the crowds arrived was unforgettable—the frescoes more impressive than photos suggested. The train ride lived up to the hype; emerald tea plantations stretching forever. What worked best was the balance—structured enough we did not have to worry about logistics, but with open afternoons to wander.
