Overview
Long before written history, Sri Lanka's ancient kingdoms rose from jungle and rock, leaving behind sacred cities, towering dagobas and citadels carved into the landscape. Across ten unhurried days, Realms of the Ancients traces these realms from the coastal capital of Colombo to the sacred city of Anuradhapura, the rock fortress of Sigiriya and the last royal capital of Kandy.
This is a journey shaped as much by people as by ruins. Alongside the UNESCO World Heritage sites and centuries-old temples, wander the back alleys of Colombo by tuk-tuk, share time in a rural village, meet local residents through a Voices of Kandy experience, and learn the traditions of Ceylon tea and Ayurveda along the way.
With generous time at leisure built into each stop, Realms of the Ancients leaves space to wander, rest and discover something unexpected — a journey through the chapters that shaped Sri Lanka, and the living culture that carries them forward today.
