Our Story

Journeys Worth Remembering

Experience Sri Lanka as it is meant to be — not just see it. We design journeys built on character-rich stays, local expertise and thoughtful pacing.

A Sri Lankan Tour Company

We design journeys for deep connection — with the places you visit, and, often, the people you meet along the way. This island is our home, and we want you to feel what we feel about it, and to leave with memories worth keeping.

Every itinerary is built around experience rather than sightseeing alone: conversations with locals, discovering Sri Lanka beyond its most photographed spots, exceptional cuisine along the way, and staying in places with real character, where the stay itself becomes part of the journey. The pace varies from tour to tour — some move gently, others include more active days — but the goal is always the same: to help you understand Sri Lanka, not just see it.

You may also see us written as Ed Et Tours, EdEt Tours or Edet Tours — all the same team.

A more personal way to experience Sri Lanka

Curated Journeys, by Design

Every itinerary is thoughtfully planned around you — whether travelling privately, as a couple, or as part of a group. That closeness creates a more relaxed journey, greater flexibility and more personal attention from your guide.

Sri Lanka, Through Local Eyes

Alongside Sri Lanka's landmark sites, we make room for what guidebooks miss — local hosts, craftspeople, everyday village life and the conversations that happen along the way.

Places With Character

We favour hotels and properties that add something to the journey — a sense of place, history, architecture, atmosphere or exceptional hospitality — rather than accommodation chosen simply for a familiar name.

A Thoughtful Pace

Every itinerary is paced with intention — some days unhurried, others full and active — but never packed simply to tick off attractions. There is always room to properly experience where you are, not just pass through it.

Leadership shaped by Sri Lanka

Ed-Et Tours was established in 2013 as The Travel Cafe, and took its current name in 2026. Arjuna Jayatunge has led the business since those early days, and brings considerable experience in travel to the company he heads today.

His own path to tourism was not a conventional one. He spent close to a decade in one of Sri Lanka's most distinctive industries — tea — working as a Tea Taster. It was during those years that his interest in travel, and in Sri Lanka as a destination, first took hold.

For Arjuna, a good itinerary is not simply a sequence of hotels and attractions — it is about knowing what is worth including, when to slow down and how to create the conditions for guests to experience Sri Lanka rather than simply pass through it.

Today, his focus is on ensuring Ed-Et Tours continues to evolve with the travellers who choose to journey with Ed-Et Tours, without losing sight of the personal, considered approach that guests value most.

"The greatest compliment we can receive is when a guest tells us they came to see Sri Lanka
— but left feeling connected to it."
